But I imagine dying from smoke or fire is a slow painful horrible death. You don&#039;t die instantly and you are trapped struggling to breath. My guess is that they would imagine that someone would lose hope and just wish for a sudden death instead.
Of course, I am no expert here but it is difficult to imagine a trapped person&#039;s situation.
